Nature Study

Today I am watching Thomas and Hannah while their big brother and sister do a long nature hike. It became pretty clear after about an hour that not much school was going to get done with the addition of another toddler and a kindergardener in the house. So I abandoned the whole thing and sent them outside with pencils, paper and crayons to do some nature drawings. There were a lot of bees around and we even spotted a hummingbird which is unusual around here so everyone actually kept busy for about 20 minutes.
